About this test
Enter the mould details and the mass and moisture of each compaction point. You get the dry densities, the compaction curve with its zero-air-voids line, and the MDD and OMC from the peak.
How it's calculated
- Bulk density = (mould + soil − mould) ÷ mould volume
- Dry density = bulk density ÷ (1 + w)
- MDD and OMC from a parabola through the three highest points
- Zero air voids: ρd = Gs ρw ÷ (1 + w Gs)
